Microchipping
Microchipping is available for all reptiles and amphibians. A microchip can be the difference when it comes to reuniting with a lost herptile. It is also a way to permanently identify your herp and can assist in record keeping, especially with larger numbers of animals. For many species, it is a simple procedure requiring a small amount of local anaesthetic just prior to the implantation. Some species may require heavy sedation or general anaesthetic for the implantation. We use a new type of implant called a nano chip, which is significantly smaller than traditional microchips. These cause less discomfort and are almost impossible to detect once implanted.
